Dependency on Google

This happens a lot but I thought I’d document it this time.  I lookup keywords in the various languages/libraries I use all the time.  I use Google for this because it does what you see to the right.  That is, if I’m slightly off with the text of the keyword it will suggest the more likely option.   On the right is the same search in Bing.  Two things: 1) there’s no suggestion and 2) there’s an ad for the Ford Escape.  Apparently it’s doing a syntactic ad matching scheme rather than a semantic one.

So I continue to suspect that the Google search engine has a better understanding of a search’s intent than other search engines.  Purely anecdotal but it’s why I always go back to Google.
